Be who you are

Goodbye Earl – Dixie Chicks.

Okay, this song has nothing to do with killing a husband really.

There has been so many discussions about how this song practically tells you to go and kill your husband. I have two words for you people.

GROW UP.

Okay, sure they sing that they killed Earl, but it’s a song, people. A SONG. And they don’t mean that you should kill your husband. It’s just a song. I mean freedom of speech people!?

But starting talking about freedom of speech when it comes to the Dixie Chicks…. I think Americans have made their minds about that already. I, of course, am on Dixie Chicks side. But I wouldn’t just have said that I’m sorry he’s from Texas, I would have said I’m sorry he’s George Bush.

“”Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.
                                                                                                             – Natalie Maines

Isn’t America supposed to be a free country? How does the freedom of speech work when people threaten to kill you if you say something they don’t like? I don’t get it.

And what about all the people in America that aren’t “worthy” so they get overlooked? WHY!? What is it with people that can’s understand that we are all the same? Just because we have different shapes of our eyes, different skincolor or whatever, does that mean you have the right to decide who is better than the other?

Why should the ones with the “right” color be granted the right to be who he is? And why is white considered the right color? I mean, personally I think white people suck. Me too.

We have enslaved people for centuries. We consider us above everybody else. Why is that? We are actually the most cruel people of them all. And this race issue is just crap. CRAP I tell you.

Take Hitler for an example. He killed all those jews, black people and homosexuals because they were WRONG. HE was RIGHT and THEY were the WRONG kind. He killed people because he had the idea that he could decide that some people were worth less than him.

He actually thought he had that right.

How can this generation know hoe to deal with this when they live in community where they are told that they are above someone, or that they aren’t.

How can we show our children to understand that people have the right to say, look and be as they want and as they are? When so many adults don’t understand that.

I hope that the future is bright, even though I know it probably isn’t. But as long as there are a few people out there that still dare to say what they want and that and can stand up for themselves then maybe we can be better.

I don’t want to grow up and realize that I don’t have the same right as the person next to me just because I don’t have fingers on my one hand. Maybe I’m just as good as the other person, if not even better. Just because I’m “different” I don’t fit in.

I don’t want to live in a world like that. So now I encourage you all to stand up. Tell the world the right words. Tell them, that we are the same. We have the same needs. The same fears, the same hopes. The same joys.

And no matter how many years that passes, we’ll always be the same.
